"Gale, I'm still basking in the glow of your On Set Workshop. It was a joy to meet and learn from you. And learn I did! The workshop was extremely informative and practical. You provided valuable tools to put in my acting toolbox. Thank you!!" Lily * Gale's on set/background acting class made the difference for me when I auditioned for my very first principal role in a public service announcement for the Dept of Homeland Security. I demonstrated familiarity and confidence as I auditioned for the "Protect your everyday," Homeland Security's 2015 theme of public awareness, and was selected to play the principal role as the farmer for a shoot on an actual Maryland farm one very early morning as the sun rose on a cool fall day. Having acted as background in mass many times before, this time was very different as I was the only character that day. I took direction and did as I was instructed and remember most of what I was taught even to the point when directed to walk to the end of the fence. Gale repeatedly reinforced that the scene does not end until you hear "cut" and as a result I reached the end of the fence and continued walking at least another 60 to 70 feet, followed by the camera crew toward the barn before I heard the words cut!" Three hours of shooting and playing the part of a farmer to the point that many of the production staff thought that I was a farmer and that the shoot location was my farm. In addition, I dressed for the part even though they had taken my measurements and wardrobe brought several changes to the set. The director looked at what I wore and what wardrobe had brought and exclaimed, " I have an uncle that is a farmer, and you look just like him! They used my wardrobe selections, I followed their direction and Gale's class helped me become the actor I am today: with credits in commercials, PSA's, Industrial's, a named background character in "The Making of the Mob," background for every season of House of Cards, a New York shoot of Gotham, and several in VEEP. Thanks Gale,"I can't do what I do without you having done what you have done." James Pyle
* "This was eye opening. I never knew there was so much to know ..." "You have fabulous information..." " Loved the stories with ever piece of information. it really makes the concepts stick..." "Gale is a great sport, very humorous, energetic, filled with important knowledge..." * I truly enjoyed this class. Better than I expected. Wish we had more time. I learned so much from this class, -knowledge that I could take with me and use anywhere in this journey. Gale is a doll. She is so personable, fun, honest, passionate and a raw beauty and talent. I am so glad we crossed paths I just wish I would have met her years ago. I recommend the On Set Workshop for any beginner or experienced actor. Trust me, there will be something you will learn that you did not know before. Mae Woods * You're a GREAT teacher! Keep it up! I just saw Captain America and was watching the film with entirely new eyes and a great appreciation for the skill of background acting! Not only are you a great teacher, you are super funny - I loved your impersonations of "what not to do" on the set - flailing around and causing a scene. Loved it. * All the best. Not sure if I will pick this up in Cali, but if I do - I am equipped! Kristen Hansen * Hi Gale! One more time-thank you! I was a little leery about the class but am so glad I was wrong! It was a great group of people there to learn with and practice with. You Susan and Jay were so generous & genuine and helpful. I had a blast and now feel I have more confidence going froward! Sincerely, Teresa Wyatt |
Good Morning Gale, I just wanted to tell you, every time I do a shoot (like I’m going to do today) I always mentally thank you for your On Set Workshop and the information you gave me! What a difference it has made! Keep up the good work! Debra Dodge
* "The whole class was a great learning experience" * "Great Energy! Great fun! Great Class!" * "As you stated - I will never look at movies the same again." * "This was my first time working as an extra and the class was extremely informative." * "I want to take your 8 hr. seminar! So much to know!" * "Great on camera practice and how to be at the same place every time." "Gale Nemec's 'Acting as an Extra in Film & TV' workshop was a success in our state. It takes a strong mind to convey substantive information in a way that's easy to understand and remember-- and Gale has that ability. She clearly communicated critical information that extras need to know to work and behave most effectively and professionally on a set. Put Gale's advice into practice and you'll be asked back to be an extra over and over again. Gale's enthusiasm for the subject is contagious and entertaining ... participants were fully engaged for the entire session!"
